Svadhishthana Chakra: Sacral Chakra
Location: in the lower abdomen, four fingerbreadths below the navel
Balanced: passionate, creative, sexual expression, able to enjoy the senses with discipline and keep emotions and relationships in balance.
Blocked: reduced creativity, obsession with sexual thoughts, lack of discipline, fear of losing control.

The Sacral Chakra is the second energy center in the body. It is the energy center for the vital force or prana ‘vyana,’ which is the energy of circulation. It is associated with the element of water and the vibrant color orange. This energy assists in letting go, accepting change, and transformation in life. It is also a direct line to our creativity, intuition, and sexual pleasure.
The Sanskrit name Svadhishthana means “dwelling place of the Self”, supporting the personal expansion and exploration of sexuality, desires, and creativity. It is called our own place because it is this chakra where human beings are settled in their minds, thoughts, and awareness.

Chakras are the energy centers of the body. They are located in the astral body, along the spine, starting at its base and running upwards to the crown of the head. The astral body is the energy body residing inside our physical body. Each physical body part has a corresponding astral body part. The astral body cannot be seen or touched. This is also a reason why we cannot see the chakras.
The chakras radiate a specific color and energy. Each one coincides with a gland in the physical body. Since each chakra relates to specific spiritual, emotional, psychological, and physical aspects of our being, it is believed that their blockage or malfunction can lead to physical, psychological, and emotional disorders. The conscious awareness and balancing of these energy centers, on the other hand, is believed to lead to well-being and good health.
